Chloé Zhao Reveals Eternals Has 2 Post-Credits Scenes!
In an interview with Fandango that was published on Monday, October 11th, 2021, Eternals director Chloé Zhao, who recently won a Best Director Oscar for Nomadland, revealed that the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie has two post-credits sequences! That means that when the movie arrives in theaters on November 5th, 2021, you’ll want to stay in your seats after the credits start to roll so that you don’t miss vital information about “Earth’s original superheroes,” Marvel Blog True Believers!
Revelations Incoming
Just like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it looks as though Eternals will have not just one, but two post-credits scenes!
While we’re sure that we don’t have to tell you, Marvel Blog True Believers, Zhao has confirmed that both scenes will be equally important to the future of the MCU! “Don’t just stay for the first one — also stay for the second one, too,” Zhao said in the interview with Fandango. “They are equally as important in weight, and both have big surprises for you.”
If this pair of post-credits scenes is similar to those from Shang-Chi, it could give us some idea of how the Eternals will be fitting in with the larger Marvel Multiverse moving forward.
For example, the mid-credits Shang-Chi scene confirmed that both Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and his close friend Katy (Awkwafina) would be playing a role in the MCU narrative going forward, and interacting with major Avengers players like Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo)… possibly in space!
Then, the Shang-Chi post-credits scene showed us a glimpse of his sister, Xialing (Meng’er Zhang), with her updated status quo, hinting at what part she may play in future proceedings.
Will we see similar hints during the Eternals credits? Remember, Marvel Blog True Believers, in the panels of Marvel Comics, some of the Eternals – including the Black Knight, played by Game of Thrones alum Kit Harrington, who even crosses paths with the Avengers in certain comics!
