Battle of the Bug-Men
The full article, which you can read on GQ.com, takes the form of an interview, and includes many shots of Holland in extremely expensive clothing. The interview is a “classic” actor interview, full of the kind of questions you’d expect for this type of content (if you need a sense of how this interview plays out but don’t want to read through it, the first few paragraphs – which let you know the interviewer has been having nightmares before even “Spider-Man” is mentioned – will tell you all you need to know).
However, the cover story does signal that we’re leaving the Eternals era of the MCU and entering the Spider-Zone. The GQ interview doesn’t hesitate to draw a straight line between the role occupied by Robert Downey, Jr.’s Tony Stark in the first volume of the MCU, and the role that Spider-Man may be playing moving forward… In fact, appearing in a high-profile magazine like GQ for a photoshoot involving a lot of expensive clothes is just what you might have expected from Downey back when Iron Man 2 or 3 was released.
One things for certain: if you want to be a superhero who gets a lot of attention even outside of the work you’re doing in the MCU… maybe consider taking a codename that involves some kind of bug!
