Marvel Announces Brand New Captain Carter Comic Series!
Marvel Entertainment took to Twitter to tease something new coming in 2022 centered around a beloved MCU hero; with Marvel announcing a brand new Captain Carter comic series!
Fans who saw the update noticed the Captain Carter shield, along with the caption, “reporting for duty — March 2022,” with a hashtag that noted the project was a development by Marvel comics.

The announcement has excited a plethora of fans as it is the first solo title for the MCU character that became one of the vital pieces of the lore established in Marvel’s 2021 animated anthology series on Disney+, What If…?
The character was an instant hit with fans, acting as a brand new take on the character of Peggy Carter; Steve Roger’s love interest in Captain America The First Avenger, and the founding member of S.H.I.E.L.D, the character was explored through her own series, Agent Carter.

Perhaps Peggy’s greatest aspect in the MCU is being one of the first female characters to transcend the tropes of traditional superhero storytelling.
Peggy wasn’t a superhero. she was a soldier, and she was incredibly capable despite her obvious challenges in a male-dominated arena.

Her love story with Steve Rogers was the emotional center of the first film, but it didn’t define the character in the film; instead of was defined by her strength, capability, resolve, and hunger for justice that so engulfed the conflict of the film.
She came before the immense prowess of Black Widow, or the incredible superpowers of Wanda Maximoff or Carol Danvers; and, like her character, acted as the character who provided a legacy for future MCU female characters to inherit.

This is what made Captain Carter such an interesting addition to the universe of Marvel What If…?, and certainly what will make for an incredible comic run for the character.
As Marvel announces a brand new Captain Carter Comic series, we don’t have any information on the creative team behind its stories, but more information should be available soon, and well have that up as soon as it arrives!
