Brand New ‘Eternals’ Deleted Scene Gives Fans More Dane Whitman and Sprite
With the movie finally arriving on Disney+ today, a brand new Eternals deleted scene gives fans more Dane Whitman and Sprite.
One of the most divisive films to be released so far in the lauded Marvel Cinematic Universe, Eternals tells the story of the eponymous immortal, ageless beings who have been tasked with protecting humanity from the vicious Deviant threat.
The film follows ten Eternals as they reunite against the threat that has inexplicably reemerged… But as the plot unfolds, it is uncovered that there is a much greater evil lying deeper within the story.
Introducing the Celestials (other than our first glimpse of Knowhere’s decapitated head in Guardians of the Galaxy), Eternals delves deep into the very origins of the Marvel Universe itself through the story of these beings that have existed as long as the planet.
Released just ahead of its long-awaited Disney+ debut, a brand new Eternals deleted scene gives fans more Dane Whitman and Sprite.
The scene is rather interesting, giving some expositional context to the film by exploring Sprite’s perspective of the vastness of human history and all that humanity still doesn’t understand.
With the narrative progression within the conversation being rooted in Sprite’s relationship with Sersi, and her apparent boredom with human history’s inability to properly give remembrance to the Eternals, it also focuses on Dane Whitman and Sersi’s relationship; something that makes Sprite rather skeptical.
It is very interesting, however, to hear Sprite discuss Thena, and the rather consulted values humanity have adopted despite everything that the Eternals have protected them from.
She specifically notes statues of Thena, the warrior Eternal who is able to form weapons of cosmic energy, noting her adoption by Greek Mythology that still misrepresents who she actually was.
It lends itself to the idea that human begins can only accept what they can understand, with the Greek interpretation of Athena sporting a normal spear, all to the disillusionment of Sprite who seemingly desires to embrace the strength and standing of her Eternal family.
Eternals is now available on Disney+ and to own on digital!
