Francesco Francavilla Makes Moon Knight Fanart
In a post made to Twitter by Marvelous artist Francesco Francavilla on Monday (which gets its name from the Anglo-Saxxon name “Mondandaeg,” Marvel Blog True Believers), January 17th, 2022, we got a piece of fanart that features Oscar Issac as Moon Knight.

Francavilla Moon Knight Fanart
The art posted by Francavilla to Twitter on the recent full moon is some of the first fan art for the highly anticipated upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Disney+, Moon Knight… and it couldn’t come from a more legitimate source than Francavilla, who is not just an artist who has done work for Marvel Comics, but an artist who has worked on Moon Knight itself!

That’s right, Marvel Blog True Believers: Francavilla contributed plenty of interior art to issues 5 through 9 of the 2016 Moon Knight run, written by Jeff Lemire. In that story arc, different aspects of Moon Knight’s psyche were represented through the work of multiple artists, including Francavilla, Greg Smallwood (who also provided covers for the series), Wilfredo Torres, and James Stokoe, with additional work by color artists like Jordie Bellaire and Michael Garland, and lettering by Cory Petit.

This isn’t the only Marvelous fanart that Francavilla has posted to Twitter lately: he recently sent a Tweet that included an image of The Thing meeting Oscar Wilde (Wilde Thing).

And for the most devoted of Marvel Blog True Believers, Francavilla’s name will seem especially familiar, considering he provided both covers and interior art for two of the issues in the 2012 Hawkeye Marvel Comics series (which heavily inspired the recently released MCU Disney+ streaming series of the same name).
