Sam Raimi Isn’t Sure if ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is Finished?
In a recent interview the veteran director may have suggested he’s uncertain about whether or not Marvel’s newest adventure is going to be ready for fans come May; so, is it true that Sam Raimi isn’t sure if Doctor Strange in the Multiverse is finished? Well, kind of.
One of the industry’s premier voices in the film industry- in particular, the horror genre- Sam Raimi has amassed quite the reputation as one of the most original creators in the world of contemporary filmmaking.
The mastermind behind the original Spider-Man feature film debut 20 years ago, Sam Raimi has consistently been a revered name; one that Marvel turned to when developing the long-awaited sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange.
Originally billed as the first true horror film of the MCU, Raimi was tasked with bringing to life the multiversal adventure that the former Sorcerer Supreme finds himself present within a post-Spider-Man: No Way Home universe.
In a recent interview with Variety, the director spoke about the upcoming Doctor Strange Sequel and made some fans nervous with his seeming uncertain surrounding the film’s readiness for its slated May release date.
So, Sam Raimi isn’t sure if Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is finished? Well, not exactly.
When asked if the film was ready for its release, the director did give a response that seemed to point to his uncertainty.
Raimi stated, “I wish I knew the answer to that question. I think we’re done, but we just cut everything. We’re just starting to test the picture and we’ll find out if there’s anything that’s got to be picked up. If something’s unclear or another improvement I can make in this short amount of time left, ill do it.”
Raimi concluded, “One thing I know about the Marvel team is they won’t stop. They’ll keep pushing it until it’s as close to being great as it could.”
Raimi was clearly stating that the film is close to complete, while not ruling out possible changes being made; noting the Marvel way being completely fixated on giving its audience the best possible story.
If anything, the news should give fans more excited for the upcoming film, as Marvel and Sam Raimi are dedicated to making Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness the best film it can possibly be.
