Marvel Debuts Trailer for Upcoming ‘The Amazing Spider-Man #1’
A new era for your favorite wall-crawling hero is about to begin as Marvel debuts the very first trailer for the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man #1.
There are few comic book characters that have broken into the cultural zeitgeist, and even fewer who have become iconic symbols of the tremendous possibilities of the medium as a whole; and then there’s Spider-Man.
There is no character ever created in the comic book genre that has reached the heights of Stan Lee’s iconic friendly neighborhood Spider-Man; the superhero alter ego of Peter Parker that has become a beloved figure in the world of comic books and beyond.
And despite every iteration of the classic and adored character, you may have never seen him like this, as Marvel debuts the very first trailer for the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man #1.
A brand new incarnation of the classic character, this reimagining of Spider-Man is set to release coinciding with the character’s 60th anniversary, a Marvel-wide celebration of who is easily the company’s greatest contribution to comic book history.
Arriving on stands this April, the trailer teased a Spider-Man coming face to face with a world crashing around him; seemingly broken up with Mary Jane, and facing off against a plethora of super villains as menacing and bloodthirsty as they’ve ever been.
Showing off some of Spider-Man’s greatest rogues gallery members including Doctor Octopus, Tombstone, Mr.Negative, and Digger, the brand new run is penned by Zeb Wells and brought to life by artist John Romita Jr.
Well’s is a name that should be familiar to Marvel comics fans, as he was responsible for putting Ben Reilly back into the main Spider-Man suit in the current Beyond story arc; the Spider-Man series preceding the Peter Parker relaunch.
John Romits Jr. also remains one of the comic book history’s most notable artists, and his style is front and center for the fantastic images that have been shown in this latest trailer.
We cannot wait to see what Wells and Romita Jr. are able to create in this brand new run, and the refreshing look at Peter Parker back in the classic red and blue.
