Benedict Cumberbatch Believes ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Will Be “On the level” of ‘No Way Home’
There are few Marvel films that can boast the level of speculation and anticipate from fans, yet the film’s star thinks it can compare to one of them, as Benedict Cumberbatch believes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be, “On the level” of No Way Home
Perhaps it is the new normal, but the past two MCU outings have been flooded with fan speculation, theorization, and engagement that is perhaps unrivaled in the history of cinema.
With every MCU fan sharing what they think will happen, or how every installment will impact the overarching Marvel story, the latest Doctor Strange film has been flooded with those very questions and assumptions.
It is following closely in the footsteps of its MCU predecessor, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which had fans buzzing for almost a year, culminating into one of the great comic book adaptations of all time, and a record-breaking theatrical release.
That seems to be the aim for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as the film’s star- Benedict Cumberbatch- believes that the film will be, “on the level of No Way Home.”
In an interview with Empire Magazine– who recently debut an exclusive issue related to all things Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness- the MCU veteran spoke on his expectations for the film, its ambition, and how it could share the success of the latest Spider-Man entry.
“It’s a big, big movie,” Cumberbatch proclaimed, “It’s going to be an absolute riot. And if brings off the level of ambition its got, were going to have success on the level of Spidey. There you go, I’ll put my flag in the sand.”
It is interesting to hear those words come from Cumberbatch, who had a starring role in the massive success that was Spider-Man: No Way Home.
It makes the statement more believable, for the Doctor Strange star to understand the process of developing both films, seeing the success of No Way Home, and to have a good base of understanding to believe that it can be replicated by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
