Disney+ Rating for ‘Ms. Marvel’ is a First for the MCU
With the premiere episode of Moon Knight debuting to a fantastic reception, fans are already looking forward to the next Phase Four series; as it turns out, the Disney+ rating for the upcoming Ms. Marvel is a first for the MCU.
Marvel’s Phase Four has been the mark of tremendous transition and growth for the massive MCU and Marvel Studios.
With some of their biggest franchises of all time undergoing massive changes and the very fabric of the Marvel Universe undergoing a metamorphosis, it appears as though this is the time for trailblazing, as Kevin Feige and company attempt to tinker with the very Marvel mold.
That is absolutely certain as it pertains to what the studio has been developing for the Disney exclusive streaming service, Disney+, as their latest project highly anticipated production soon to arrive on the platform has become one of their most unique.
In a recent report from CBR.com, it appears as though the Disney+ rating for Ms. Marvel is a first for the MCU, as its TV-PG distinction has never been granted to a Marvel Studios project to his point
The report states, “based on information for Ms. Marvel provided by Disney+, the series will be rated TV-PG, the first Marvel Studios project– including movies and series– to receive a rating other than PG-13 or TV-14.”
The report goes on to state, “So far, every MCU movie has been rated PG-13, while each of the Disney+ shows have received a rating of TV-14.”
The rating doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise considering the subject matter of Ms. Marvel seems more geared toward a younger audience, with it likely banking on getting children of all ages to embrace the story of Kamala Khan.
It doesn’t feel as though this new rating should speak towards what to expect out of the series, only that it will likely be lighter in tone than some of the recent MCU production that has arrived on Disney+ thus far.
