Thor: Love and Thunder Trailer Amasses Over 200 Million Views in 24 Hours
The trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has finally arrived and audiences have been watching it in droves amassing 209 million views in the first 24 hours!
Breaking the MCU film record for the least amount of time from the first trailer to the premiere of the film, Marvel Studios made fans wait on pins and needles for the trailer of the highly anticipated film. Though the wait was definitely worth it!
Love and Thunder Joins MCU Fan-Favorites
Thor: Love and Thunder managed to garner a whopping 209 million views in 24 hours! While the trailer for Spider-man: No Way Home holds the highest number of views in the first 24 hours (355 million); Thor: Love and Thunder’s number of views put it in close company to the trailers of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame which both did over 230 million.
Nevertheless, Love and Thunder managed to captivate audiences by showing some great content, flashing several sequences from the movie while the legendary melody of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine” blared in the background.
Picking Up Where Thor Left Off
The trailer begins right where Endgame left Thor, traveling with the Guardians of The Galaxy. We see Star-Lord and the other Guardian members while also flashing to instances of Thor training, losing the hefty weight that he had gained during the blip event.
The trailer seems centered around Thor’s journey of self-discovery with things most certainly going amiss. We can see a god with lightning bolts from the back perspective, most likely the visage of Zeus who will be played by Russell Crowe. Further an iconic shot of Thor standing in front of the body of a dead god matches a panel from the comics.
However, the greatest part of the trailer occurs at the end when we finally get a live-action view of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor! With arms of steel, Jane Foster wields Mjolnir after summoning the hammer to her side, leaving Thor looking incredulous at what he is witnessing.
The 1-minute and 30-second trailer is barely enough to satisfy fans’ incredible desire to see the film, but it will have to do for now. As the movie continues to creep towards its release date, we hope to continue getting more expansive trailers and learning a little more about what both Thors will be facing in Thor: Love and Thunder!
