Sam Raimi Praises ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Writer Michael Waldron
With the film just three days away, the director was sure to give credit where it’s due, as Sam Raimi praises Doctor Strange 2 writer Michael Waldron.
There is maybe not an MCU project that can boast both an incredible impact on the greater Marvel Universe and an insane amount of hype, as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
A film that is likely to bookend the Marvel Cinematic Universes Multiversal narrative that has been present for most of the MCU’s Phase Four, it is a film that should have massive implications for the greater universe.
It was a project that was always meant to display the incredible talents of Sam Raimi, whose penchant for horror made him the perfect choice to helm the upcoming film set to focus on the horrific aspects of a delicate reality.
But if you have kept an ear on anything happening behind the scenes in Phase Four, then you have surely heard of the name that Raimi credits for a lot of what this newest Marvel film has become.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Sam Raimi didn’t hesitate to praise Doctor Strange 2 writer Michael Waldron; the architect behind Loki and the entire MCU multiverse.
Talking to the publication, Raimi stated, “Wow, that guy is great. He brought an incredible imagination and absolute awareness of Marvel history. So he really is an expert in these characters, their interactions, and their backstories. I would be dead without that.”
Raimi continued, “But then he brought a super-fertile imagination. He loves to have characters interact with each other and really shows them for who they are and what their problems are. So he’s like a novelist, writing a Marvel comic book.”
The visionary director concluded by stating, “It’s great because that’s what’s so unique about Stan Lee’s Marvel superheroes- Its the human aspect of them, their flaws, their mistakes, their personality quirks. Michael loves that Doctor Strange is a little bit of an egoist and has a problem with insecurity.”
It truly is a glowing review from one of Hollywood’s legendary directors, and we cannot wait to see what Raimi and Waldron cook up in the long-awaited Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
