Elizabeth Olsen Discusses Her Marvel Contract Status
With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness currently dominating the box office, a huge part of that success has to be attributed to the presence of the Scarlet Witch; with her value evident, Elizabeth Olsen recently discussed her Marvel contract status.
It is no secret that a massive part of the recently arriving Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was the return of one of the Marvel Cinematic Universes’ most beloved characters.
Wanda Maximoff has earned a special place in the hearts of MCU fans, with her fantastic and emotional series, WandaVision, truly exploring the depths of her grief and loss, while allowing her to shine in a series centrally focused on her character.
It still is one of the best storytelling feats in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it presents audiences with a character study that has come to define the purpose and motive for the emotionally resonating Phase Four; while allowing the MCU to expand on the story in this highly anticipated sequel.
The entire promotional campaign for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness focused as much on the reemergence of Wanda Maximoff, and her true embrace of the Scarlet Witch mantel, as it did the film’s eponymous character.
It spoke to the audience’s connection with her, and how much she means to the current state of the MCU as it grows within its current phase.
With the conclusion of the film and the understanding that Wanda has evolved into one of the most powerful beings in the MCU, one has to question what the future looks like for the character within the universe.
In a recent interview with Collider, Elizabeth Olsen discusses her Marvel contract status, and if she has signed on to be a continual presence in the universe for future films.
Asked if she had signed a contract extension, Olsen stated, “I sign extensions every time they want me to do a movie. I just signed a very short one at the beginning, so everything is constantly just, always adjusting for me. No. I don’t think of this either as the end.”
We truly hope that this isn’t the end for Wanda, as she was the most compelling part of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and seeing how she’s used in the future will be a focal point for the MCU moving forward.
