We Previewed Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!
With the long-awaited Marvel attraction coming to Epcot at Walt Disney World in a matter of months, we previewed Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and it was amazing!
there are few Marvel franchises that have had an effect on the overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe to the same level as the Guardians of the Galaxy.
In what was the first big risk for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the James Gunn-helmed Guardians of the Galaxy brought humor and a newfound aesthetic to the developing cosmic realm of the MCU; a realm that became defined by the iconic team.
With the franchise wrapping up its third film- and what is probably the final installment of this incarnation of the team- Marvel has coincided it with the long-awaited arrival of a brand new Guardians-themed attraction at Epcot in Walt Disney World.
We previewed Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and we are reeling from the incredible attraction that the Imagineers at Walt Disney World have crafted.
The first aspect of the newly constructed attraction that immediately jumps out to you is the incredible attention to detail that is within its theme, something that is clearly seen throughout; first being displayed in the true-to-scale Xandarian Nova corps ship docked on the outside.
With Epcot being home to the famous World Showcase, Cosmis Rewind acts as an addition, with those boarding it entering into a Wonders of Xandar pavilion that showcases the fantastic world of Xandar as seen in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film.
The attraction’s queue shows off a lot of these little design elements that point to the showcasing of Xandar to humans, but the attraction really picks up when you enter the pre-show; which does feature Terry Crews making his MCU debut.
Without giving too much away, the attraction’s storyline takes you alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy as they seek to stop a Celestial from destroying earth; a premise that perfectly sets up the fantastic interior roller coaster that makes you truly feel like you flying about in space
It is a truly breathtaking experience and combines some of the fantastic technology of modern attractions like Hollywood Studio’s Rise of the Resistance with classic indoor coasters like the legendary Space Mountain.
We will DEFINITELY be riding every chance we get!
