Oscar Isaac Calls ‘Moon Knight’ His “Most Creatively Fulfilling” Adventure
Marvel’s latest series has stood out as one of its best, as its star has given some insight into one of the key reasons why, as Oscar Isaac has recently called Moon Knight his, “most creatively fulfilling” adventure.
It isn’t hyperbole to all Moon Knight the very best series that Marvel has ever produced.
Existing in a league of its own, the latest MCU project to premiere on Disney+ did the unthinkable; it presented some of the most mature themes that MArvel has ever explored, and made them feel perfectly real and cared for in the massive reality that is the MCU.
To present such important themes and subject matter as child abuse and mental illness within the confines of a film universe that has superheroes and villains present in a fight for good and evil was no small task, but it was one that was clearly achieved by the creative team for Moon Knight.
Perhaps the biggest part of the series was its lead, who turns in what is the performance of a lifetime as Marc Spector; a former mercenary struggling with dissociative identity disorder while also being bound to the vengeful whims of an Egyptian deity.
As reported by ComicBook.com, as stated in the latest Assembled episode, star Oscar ISaac spoke on Moon Knight being his “most creatively fulfilling” adventure yet.
Isaac stated, “I would never have guessed, and I don’t mean this derogatorily, that this would be one of my most creatively fulfilling adventures because it was just like everyone was throwing things onto the table and taking big swings on a major stage.”
The veteran actor continued, stating, “That we had the faith and not only the space to do it, but the support to do it was just amazing.”
It is very apparent that Marvel allowed the creative team behind the series to shine, and their reward is perhaps the greatest piece of storytelling that the MCU has ever been responsible for.
