Card Battler Marvel Snap Set to be Released For Mobile and PC
The next Marvel mobile game is set to be released this year, and it is a quirky fast-paced collectible card game battler titled Marvel Snap!
Marvel Snap! Taking homage from Thanos’ legendary MCU moment will feature a massive roster of Marvel heroes and villains. Players must craft together decks to face off against each other in fast-paced card-style combat!
So many elements tie together Marvel Snap to make it stand out among the plethora of card battlers within the mobile marketplace. Primary among them is the fast-paced gameplay, with both players able to play the game simultaneously, removing the usual period of waiting when your opponent is making a move.
In the trailer for the game, Designer Ben Brode mentions that “we’ve taken your opponent’s turns and your turns and layered them on top of each other”. This is certainly something that appears to be a fascinating mechanic and strategizing how to win in such a quick play environment is sure to appeal to fans of other card games.
Another element that contrasts with other CCGs is the number of cards in a deck. Many card games feature large decks with up to 60 cards, decks in Marvel Snap will only hold 12 cards. It is interesting to see whether this will appeal to more casual players or those that favor deeper strategical elements.
Strategizing to win will focus on each player gathering cosmic cubes. Further, a greater risk or reward can be gathered when the player “Snaps” their opponent, doubling the stakes of the match and reward. The players battle for three locations with the winner being crowned if they take over two of the locations.
One of the most unique aspects of Marvel Snap is the advent of variant cards! Variant cards are different pieces of art for the same characters. As seen above with the Doctor Strange card, various artists are featured and then used to create “variant sets” in which all the cards in one set are done by the same artist featuring different characters.
If a player favors one particular style of artwork, they can collect all of the cards within that set. This is an awesome feature that pushes the “collectible” aspect of Marvel Snap as a collectible card game. From 8-bit renditions to incredibly realistic artwork, the game features a tremendous amount of beautiful variant artwork.

Marvel Snap is shaping up to join Marvel’s already impressive collection of mobile games. Developed by Second Dinner, a studio filled with talented developers that have worked on previous famous mobile card games such as Hearthstone, the game is sure to attract fans from a variety of different interests.
Whether you are a Marvel fan who wants to try out the amazing gameplay while collecting your favorite characters or an avid fan of card battling mobile games, Marvel Snap appeals to a wide range of audiences and we can’t wait to try it sometime this year!
