Official ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Runtime Revealed
There are few Marvel projects that have been as anticipated as this upcoming Phase Four epic that will see the continuation of a beloved heroes saga; with many fans destined to be a little saddened by its length, as the official Thor: Love and Thunder runtime have been revealed.
We have said it before, and we will say it again; few Marvel heroes can boast a connection to the MCU fanbase that is as strong as Thor’s.
He is a hero who had a tumultuous path to Marvel relevancy- often viewed by yours truly as one of the weaker members of the Avengers lineup- but eventually firmly established himself as among the most beloved and relevant Marvel heroes.
That level of adoration from MCU fans is seen in the fact that Thor remains the only Marvel hero to get a fourth solo film; with his character development getting resurrected with the brilliant Thor: Ragnarok.
Fans are immensely exciting for that upcoming fourth solo film, but may be saddened by recent development, as the official Thor: Love and THunder runtime has been revealed, and it is one of the shortest Marvel CInematic Universe outings in some time.
The reveal has come from AMC Theaters (reported by Collider.com), which has stated that Thor: Love and Thunder would clock in at 119 minutes; or 1 hour and 59 minutes.
With the film being under two hours, there are some fans who will be wary about what the creative team can fit into that allotted time, but it still isn’t the shortest MCU film that’s been revealed; only…among the shortest.
Collider notes that “This would make the much-anticipated movie the shortest release by Marvel STudios since Ant-Man and the Wasp, which ran for 118 minutes upon its release in 2018.”
There are fans who will be relieved by that statement, and some who won’t be, as the Ant-Man sequel is a film that flew under the radar for many; only time will tell what Taika Waititi and company will be able to accomplish in that short time.
