Marvel Honors NFL Hall of Famer ‘Weapon X’ Brian Dawkins!
A new special variant comic book cover for Wolverine #22 is now available at TheHaul.com! Honoring legendary NFL hall of fame player Brian Dawkins who was known by the moniker ‘Weapon X’.
One of Wolverine’s primary traits is his ferocity and intensity when facing his enemies. On the field of American Football, Brian Dawkins exhibited these very same traits hunting down opposing offenses during his football career. The level of ferocity and intensity terrorized his opponents and reinforced his teammates.
The original codename ‘Weapon X’ was a program established by the Canadian government to create a living weapon in Logan. The Weapon X program was created to amplify Logan’s mutant abilities, primarily by giving him an indestructible adamantium skeleton and brainwashing him to unleash his murderous impulses.
Wolverine would spend years running away from this horrific past, eventually joining Xavier and his team of mutant heroes the X-Men. However, Wolverine is still prone to his animalistic rages and has been known to throw down with the biggest and baddest villains in the Marvel universe.
Much like the hero he was named after, Brian Dawkins was a player that played ferociously, almost succumbing to his own rages. Brian Dawkins played 16 seasons of football, a majority of those seasons were done under the banner of the Philadelphia Eagles. Dawkins was also a 9-time pro-bowler and 5-time All-Pro.
Phenomenal at leading his fellow teammates, his aggressiveness incentivized his teammates to play at a higher level and made the Eagle’s defense a dominant force for many years. Dawkins’ ability to seek out the ball and hit with tremendous force immortalized him as Philadelphia’s ‘Weapon X’.
The special edition Wolverine cover will be available for $30 at The Haul! A limited run of 3,000 covers will be released. Wolverine’s current solo adventure has him crossing paths with Deadpool and Maverick, how will the ferocious X-Man deal with these two rogues?
