There is no denying the vitality and importance of Loki in the current phase of the MCU; with the Disney+ series being the first of Marvel’s massive successes on the streaming service, still being viewed by many as the best outing for the studio.
The series delved deeper into one of the most popular characters in the MCU’s history, as the original villain of the Avengers was among the most interesting characters that had yet to have their story truly told in a solo project.
It ended up being incredibly well-received, and also featured the arrival of one of the most anticipated villains in the Marvel Universe; with a character so menacing that he has the potential to rival Thanos as one of the most dangerous villains that the MCU has seen.
In a recent interview, the phenomenal Kate Herron spoke on the importance of Kang to the MCU’s future, and why Jonathan Majors stood out as among Marvel’s most promising performers.
As reported by ComicBook.com, referencing Majors, Herron stated, “So it was amazing with him. He is a fantastic actor and it honestly felt a little bit like filming a play. Which was really fun.”
The director continued, adding, “hat was the thing. It was such a privilege seeing an incredible actor find this character because it is going to go on to be an amazing character.”
Herron concluded, “And when I looked at the significance of Kang in the MCU, I agreed to the role the same way I agree to any other film that I do. ‘Can the world move forward without them? Can the scene move forward without them?…’ If it can then I’m okay, and if it can’t then it’s something I want to take on.”
It certainly sounds like Kang will play a pivotal role in the future of the MCU, and we cannot wait to see what Majors does in the upcoming appearances in Phase Four.
