Disney+ Announces Thor Collection Ahead of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’
It is finally almost here, as the long-awaited fourth solo film for Marvel’s resident deity is officially arriving in just four days; and in anticipation of its debut in theaters, Disney+ has announced the Thor Collection ahead of Thor: Love and Thunder.
He has had a Marvel Cinematic Universe journey that is quite unlike any peer that he has arrived alongside, and unlike any that will one day come after him; the character of Thor remains a fan-favorite Marvel hero despite his rather inconsistent beginnings.

The original six Avengers arrived with a seemingly firm grasp on who they were as characters, and where the story of the Marvel universe would eventually take them; all except for one, with Thor, often feeling like the odd man out.
That is not to say that the character of Thor wasn’t a great performance or interpretation, as Chris Hemsworth always brilliantly embodied the character with his tremendous presence and magnetism, it’s that the character always felt as though the creatives behind the scenes were unsure of how to use him.

This was never more evident than in the release of what is still one of the most underwhelming projects that Marvel has ever released; Thor: The Dark World.
It was a film that manifested these problems with the character, caught in the difficulty of trying to adapt the hero for the MCU in a way that felt real but getting hung up on the old English incarnation that was so present in the source material; a version that had a difficult time connecting with fans.

All of this changed with the arrival of Taika Waititi, and the debut of Thor: Ragnarok, as the visionary director found the humor, and the humanity, in the character; unleashing the charismatic Hemsworth to truly redefine the tortured hero.
Now, with Thor: Love and Thunder just on the horizon, Disney+ has announced the arrival of the Thor Collection; an entire collection of every Thor film thus far, allowing fans to relive the incredible journey of the characters decade-plus existence so far in the MCU.
