Disney Releases ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Soundtrack
For a film that has seemingly placed such an emphasis on the music that would permeate throughout, there is no denying that this has been a moment of great intrigue for Marvel fans, as Disney has officially released the Thor: Love and Thunder soundtrack.
Since its earliest promotional material, it has felt as though Taika Waititi’s second collaborative effort with Marvel Studios would naturally be intertwined with the music that would make its way into the film; with the entire aesthetic harkening to the 1980s rock scene.
Fans got a taste of the score that they would be in for when Marvel released the Michael Giacchino-composed piece that signified the arrival of Jane Foster’s The Mighty Thor, with the entire song list assumed to feature a plethora of titles that are of a similar feel.
The film producer himself, Brad Winderbaum, noted that the music of the movie would be integral to its adventure, noting, “If Ragnarok was a 1980’s synth-pop album, ‘Love and Thunder’ is a metal album. We knew we wanted a title that would evoke a 1980s Rock n Roll feeling.”
Now that Disney has officially released the Thor: Love and Thunder soundtrack fans can delve deep into this metal-inspired score and experience both the brilliance of a compose like Giacchino, and the smash hits that dominated the rock scene of the 1980s.
One band that shows up on the soundtrack more than once is the massive American rock group Guns N’ Roses, which feels like a perfect complimentary piece to the work that Taika Waititi and Marvel veteran Chris Hemsworth have done in this upcoming film.
Broadwayworld.com reports that the original score for Thor: Love and Thunder, “was recorded over 12 days with a 94-piece orchestra and a 36-member choir.” With the most unique aspect of the composition is that no woodwinds are involved, so the film can, “pump up the 80’s Rock vibe.”
The soundtrack definitely has us excited, as the marriage between the brilliance of Giacchino and the brilliance of Taika Waititi should craft a truly unforgettable piece of cinematic music.
