Natalie Portman Reveals ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ has a Plethora of Deleted Scenes
It was a film that sparked contravery for its rather short runtime, with many of its actors speaking on how much of it ended up on the cutting room floor; those sentiments are now being echoed by Natalie Portman who revealed Thor: Love and Thunder has a plethora of deleted scenes.
When reports earlier this year began to surface that the upcoming record-setting fourth Thor solo film was going to arrive in theaters with a runtime under two hours, many fans started to feel immense concern.
Although the reality is that Thor: Ragnarok also boasted a rather short runtime, and the push to shorten the length of the project seems to be more of a Taika Waititi quality, many fans feared how he would be able to tell such important and emotional stories with a clock as small as that.
The film that we all received is one that does make the best of its shorter time, but isn’t free from the pitfalls of its rapid pace; a lot of it feels like there just isnt enough time to sit and spend with these fantastic characters.
Jane Foster herself, Natalie Portman, recently revealed that Thor: Love and Thunder has a plethora of deleted scenes; spurring up the dismay of many fans who wished for the film to be longer.
In an interview with IndieWire, Portman stated, “There were whole sequences, planets, characters, and worlds that didn’t end p in the movie that were hilarious and amazing and [that] we spent a lot of time and energy on, and certainly the entire crew also designing and conceiving.”
The veteran actress added, “It’s just amazing how much great material is not in the film, considering how much great material is in it. Usually, it’s like, you’re just trying to get enough good stuff to put in the film, and this had overflowed. So that was really surprising.”
Gorr himself, Chrisitan Bale, said much of the same during various press interviews; and it seems as though there were a lot of scenes that actors felt were good enough to make the final product, but didn’t.
