First Look at ‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’ Rumored for San Diego Comic-Con
The most intriguing story of the web-slinger of the MCU is reportedly going to offer fans some long-awaited footage into what they can expect out of the series in the coming days, as the first look at Spider-Man: Freshman Year is rumored for San Diego Comic-Con.
It is perhaps the most intriguing Spider-Man story never told, the origin of the MCU’s Peter Parker that has long been the missing piece to fans truly understanding where the young hero came from, and how this version of the character differs from those shown in the past.
There have been countless rumors and theories, with fans attempting to piece together just what led the young Marvel hero to the place that fans first encountered him in Captain America: Civil War.
Shown in that film was a teenager who was incredibly smart, and maintained super powers that were quite unlike anything that existed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to that point; and something that hasn’t been explained in the character’s three solo films since then.
At the time of Captain America: Civil War, it was understood why the character’s backstory wasn’t explored; he was just coming off of a two-film franchise starring Andrew Garfield just two years before, and fans had already been given Spider-Man origin stories more than enough time.
The character was so engrained in the zeitgeist of popular culture, that it felt like viewers had already had a built-in idea of how Peter Parker became Spider-Man, and what values he held because of that; with his appearance in the film allowing that part to be sacrificed for the introduction of the Spider-Man we know.
Those days are gone now, and after the hero has gone through his metamorphosis, fans have been clamoring for that very elusive backstory, and it seems we may get our first look at what that entails, as the first look at Spider-Man: Freshman Year is rumored for San Diego Comic-Con this week.
We can only hope that the series will bring with it the answers to so many of those questions, and tell us just how this Peter Parker, became Spider-Man
