New ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Image Gives Best Look at Wakandan Goddess
It was an Easter Egg that fans first noticed circulating prior to the release of the movie, and after being in theaters for a couple of weeks, we now have a new Thor: Love and Thunder image that gives us our best look yet at that Wakandan Goddess.
One of the coolest parts of what Taika Waititi did in the record-setting fourth solo film for the character of Thor, was truly elaborate on the easter egg possibilities that came with dealing in a realm of gods and goddesses.
Introducing Omnipotent City, and the character of Zuess, allowed the director to play with the idea of deities in how we perceive them in past cultures, versus how we perceive them now with the same sort of folklore at our disposal.
Not only did it allow Waititi to explore the historical presence of these figures, but it also allowed him to dig into the Marvel lore connected to the various heroes that w know and love in the MCU; specifically in one easter egg.
She was barely visible in an easter egg that fans noticed in a previously released screenshot of the film, and now that it has been in theaters for a couple weeks, The Direct has reported a new Thor: Love and Thunder image that gives us our best look yet at the Wakandan Goddess featured in Omnipotent City.
The Goddess depicted in the sequence is Bastet, a Wakandan Deity closely connected to the character of Black Panther, played in the sequence by Akosia Sabet, with many hoping that her presence in this film is just the precursor to a role that could carry over into the upcoming Black Panther Sequel.
With Moon Knight introducing the idea of Human Avatars for somewhat divine characters, there is the possibility that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever could feature Bastet’s return to the world of these Marvel heroes, and aid the Wakandans in their fight against the Atlanteans.
