‘Edge of Spider-Verse’ Introduces Brand new Marvel Hero from Broadway Writer
There has been an immense excitement over Marvel comics’ next big multiversal story surrounding some of the most beloved Spider-Heros that the publication can offer, but the upcoming Edge of Spider-Verse series is also set to introduce a brand new Marvel hero.
With the overwhelming success of a project like Sony Pictures’ animated masterpiece Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse, there is no denying that multiversal Spider-Man stories have officially made it into the mainstream of culture, and presented a key aspect of the hero moving forward.
Not only has that taken place on the big screen in projects like that, and the record-breaking Spider-Man: No Way Home. but it has also been vital to the comic book universe, with the continued development of Marvel comics’ very own Spider-Verse story.
Not just being used to bring together the same old Spider-Heroes, but this current run is continuing with an issue that is set to invite some brand new characters to the part, as the upcoming Edge of Spider-Verse issue is set to introduce a brand new Marvel hero.
Writer Dan Slott and artist Mark Bagley have orchestrated a very good comic run taking place in the fan-favorite Spider-Verse sect of the universe, and with the upcoming issue seeing the return of the beloved Spider-Ham, it will also see the debut of Spintress.
The hero was shown in several different variant covers, and will play a massive role in the upcoming fourth issue of the tremendous run; with Spider-Ham, the recently debuted Spider-Mobile, and the hero Sun-Spider all playing major roles in the recent issue.
ComicBook.com shared a description of the role of the character in the upcoming issue, stating, “A Spider-Hero unlike any other maker her dazzling debut! Meet Spintress, a Spider-Princess who sings, talks o spiders,s and kicks villainous butt throughout her kingdom!”
It continued, “David Hein, writer of the Broadway smash hit Come From Away, brings her to life alongside amazing artist Luciano Vecchio.”
It concluded by stating, “Check out her stunning design by Helen Chen, the artist and production designer known for her work with Walt Disney Animation Studios on films like Raya and The Last Dragon, Wreck-it Ralph, and Big Hero 6!”
