Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief and Spider-Man Editor Celebrate Spider-Man’s 60th Anniversary
There are few fictional characters who have ever achieved the heights of popularity that have been seen by Marvel’s greatest creation, and with this month being the character’s 60th anniversary, Marvel’s editor-in-chief and Spider-Man editor celebrate the hero and his special month.
Every Marvel fan, in one way or another, they have formed some kind of attachment to the character Spider-Man; for decades, he has been one of the most beloved and consistent characters that the medium has ever seen.
Despite the massive pantheon of heroes that the comic book industry has been able to boast throughout the years, few have been able to stand as peers to Peter Parker, and just what he means to fans of this medium, and many others.
Spider-Man hasn’t just been perhaps the most successful comic book character ever created, but he has now stretched beyond the pages of a comic book, and become one of film and television’s most beloved figures.
It is now his month to be celebrated, as Marvel has honored the famed Stan Lee creation on the 60th anniversary of his release, as Marvel’s editor-in-chief CB Cebulski and Spider-Man editor Nick Lowe celebrate the hero while highlighting what to come from the iconic character.
Speaking to Marvel.com, the duo discussed the character’s 2022 comic book run- specifically, the currently Amazing Spider-Man #900 from Zeb Wells, John Romita Jr., and Ed McGuinness.
Nick Lowe stated, “You’re getting a Spidey graphic novel with some bonuses by Zeb and Ed, and it is so good. So many classic bits with some new bits too, like what is the Sinister Adaptaoid? What does Dock Ock have to do with this?”
Cebulski added that not only is the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man issue on the horizon, but there is also the brand new Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man from Taboo and B. Earl, and an infinite comic titled Spider-Verse: Unlimited all on the horizon.
It is safe to say that this year will feature as much Spider-Man as fans can handle.
