Marvel Introducing Brand New Latina Hero in Upcoming Voices Series
In celebration of Hispanic heritage month, Marvel has placed a focus on some of their most important Hispanic heroes and creators to bring forth the next installment of their beloved Voices series, and their upcoming entry will see Marvel introduce a brand new Latina hero to the Marvel Universe.
Over the decades upon decades worth of history that has been present for the publication, there is no denying that Marvel has always stood by inclusion and representation as massive pillars of the companies value system, and how they would tell their stories.
Some of the earlier examples of representation in the comic book medium came from Marvel, and although it is a journey that hasn’t always been perfect, it has not been one of the most important things for the publication to keep a focus on.
That remains especially true today, where there is no one in the industry with as much of a focus on this endeavor as Marvel, and the clearest representation of this ideology is seen in their championed Marvel’s Voices series.
A series dedicated to highlighting heroes and creators of specific groups- both racially, orientationally, and otherwise- that can shine a light on the various perspectives that make our present world such a beautiful amalgamation of humanity.
Hispanic heritage month sees Marvel set out to do that once again, and this time they are using the series to bring a brand new voice to life, as Marvel is set to introduce a brand new Latina hero to the Marvel Universe in their upcoming Voices series.
The issue is titled Marvel’s Voices: Comunidades #1, and the hero in question is none other than Chimer; a villain set to tangle with already established Puerto Rican hero, White Tiger, in a clash that will certainly be one for fans to enjoy
