Marvel Finally Announces ‘Werewolf By Night’
It has been the subject of a ton of speculation, and with it being rumored for months now, Marvel has finally announced the impending Werewolf by Night.
The rumor mill has been churning for the past few months over one potential Marvel special set to celebrate the spookiest time of the year.
Marvel fans have long heard rumblings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe introducing their very own wolfman in a Halloween special that would be a strict departure from what the MCU had been known for.
It was a rumor for a project that wouldn’t be a film or even a character’s new series, but instead, be more akin to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
What better way than to attack such a rumor than by announcing it on the biggest stage for every brand under the Disney umbrella; D23.
That was the setting for the official reveal, as Marvel has finally announced the impending Werewolf By Night special coming to the Disney-exclusive streaming service next month.
Although the rumors had been circulating, it was not only confirmed that the project would be coming to fruition sooner than fans had thought, but that composing legend Michael Giacchino was, in fact, the man directing the Halloween spectacular.
The project marks a very unique turn for Marvel Studios, as this doesn’t seem to fit into the traditional movie or series model that the MCU has been built on to this point.
In the incoming Werewolf by Night, fans will see the debut of Marvel’s resident wolfman, and watch a story unfold that exists within itself, but is still a part of the overarching MCU narrative.
This seems like a brilliant addition to the Marvel mythos, and the way that the company developed its evergrowing roster of heroes, as they can be introduced, and unfold, in a finite amount of time that does require a six-episode arc or a two-hour movie.
