It was a struggle with characters like Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk all finding it difficult to have running series, and Marvel seeking an opportunity to partner them up to see how their dynamics would play as one group.
The result was an enormous and resounding success, as the team become immensely popular, and would eventually become one of the big three Marvel teams; outside of the beloved X-Men, and the Fantastic Four.
And now, those classic Avengers are back, as Marvel has announced the upcoming War Across Time series in which the legendary duo of Paul Levitz and alan Davis take readers back in time.
