RUMOR: New ‘Madame Web’ Set Photos Tease Potential Spider-Man Variant?
It has been the next film in Sony’s slate of films involving the iconic web-slinger, and it may not be what anyone expects, as new Madame Web set photos tease a potential Spider-Man variant.
Since the character’s return to Marvel, and arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016, it has seemed like Sony Pictures has strongly desired the building and crafting of their very won Cinematic Universe.
Their concept was centered around Peter Parker, and the iconic characters’ massive rogues gallery that featured some of the greatest characters in the history of the comic book medium.
The plan had first gone into action with Venom, a film that was fairly well received and featured one of the greatest actors on the planet, Tom Hardy, bringing to life the anti-hero of Eddie Brock.
That film was followed up by the sequel, Venom: Let There be Carnage, which was a very decent second outing that spoke to the potential of the concept working, but wasn’t enough to truly solidify it as a cant-miss success.
That was followed by what was easily the biggest failure in Morbius, a film that was gifted a pretty good character in the Marvel Universe, but eventually became a meme more than anything else.
These films have paved the way for both Kraven the Hunter, and Madame Web, the latter of which just teased a Spider-Man variant?
A few images that are making the rounds on social media seem to feature Dakota Johnson filming on the set of Madame Web, and with her is what looks like A Spider-Man of sorts.

The character doesn’t have the signature red and blue costume that the web-slinger is known for, but is wearing what seems to be a black and red suit that is covered in some kind of web design.
Since its initial announcement, there have been countless questions as to how Sony is set to implement the enigmatic hero, and using multiversal- or time-traveling- versions of the iconic hero could be a very interesting way of doing just that.
