Vincent D’Onofrio Hints That ‘Daredevil: Reborn” Will Adapt ‘Devil’s Reign’
The last time that audiences saw Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin was flying back to New York and watching with interest as a news story ran on television about the lack of front-runners in the city’s mayoral race.
After losing his control over Maya and having his past trauma brought to the surface, it looks like the mobster is considering entering the domain of politics.
The teaser led many fans to speculate that Marvel would adapt the Devil’s Reign storyline.
What Is ‘Devil’s Reign’?
In the comics, Fisk was elected mayor of New York City and launched a campaign against superheroes and vigilantism.
Interestingly, to enforce his edict, Wilson Fisk turns to a new team of Thunderbolts comprised of Crossbones, Taskmaster, Typhoid Mary, Shocker, Whiplash, Rhino, and Kraven.
Eventually, Moon Knight, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and Danny Rand are all taken into custody.
Vincent D’Onofrio’s Latest Comments
With Daredevil: Reborn set to continue the story of both its titular hero and Kingpin, fans will soon get answers about Fisk’s future.
In the meantime, during a recent appearance at Dragon Con, a fan asked D’Onofrio if he would like Marvel to adapt The Devil’s Regin.
“That’s a very interesting question,” D’Onofrio cautiously said, according to PopVerse. “I cannot answer that because we have a new season coming out of Daredevil.”
After the audience gasped, D’Onofrio continued, “I’m sure you get it. Otherwise, I would just flap my lips for the next thirty minutes and it would be so much fun, but that’s not happening.”
While it sure sounds like Kingpin will soon be the mayor of New York City, Marvel fans will have to wait until Daredevil: Born Again premieres in March 2025.
