Brad Winderbaum Compares ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ to ‘Game of Thrones’
After Agatha All Along ends its run on October 30, the next Marvel Studios live-action series to debut on Disney+ will be the long-awaited Daredevil: Born Again.
As opposed to the magical world of Agatha, with its cast of witches and supernatural beings, Daredevil: Born Again will return audiences to the streets of New York City for a gritty street-level story.
After a creative overhaul, Daredevil: Born Again will now act as a continuation of the original Daredevil series, which ran on Netflix from 2015 through October 2018.
The original Daredevil series has long been lauded for its ground-breaking storytelling and cinematic action sequences. It seems that Daredevil: Born Again will follow suit.
Brad Winderbaum Talks ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
In a recent interview with ABC13, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, teased that Daredevil: Born Again will be a grounded political thriller.
“Imagine if New York City was as intricate and problematic and scary as the world of ‘Game of Thrones,'” he teased. “All these forces vying for control, and it can be really hopeful at times, and really violent at times, and dark-but also there’s light at the end of the tunnel if you could just fight for it.”
Winderbaum’s comments seem to lend credence to the idea that Marvel is set to adapt the fan-favorite Devil’s Reign storyline that sees Kingpin become mayor of New York.
When Will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Debut?
With both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onorfio set to reprise their roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, it sounds like fans are in for a real treat with Daredevil: Born Again.
The series will stream on Disney+ in 2025.
