‘Agatha All Along’ Almost Featured a Fan-Favorite MCU Character
While the story of Agatha All Along certainly had implications for the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the series felt like it was set in its own world.
Whether due to the show’s mystical setting or the storytelling ability of series creator Jac Schaeffer, it is easy to forget that Agatha All Along is set in the same universe as Iron Man, Captain America, and Echo.
Although Agatha was bereft of the kind of cameos that have come to define Marvel’s content, if Schaeffer had got her way, one Marvel star would have popped up in the series.
She-Hulk’s Madisynn Was Going to Watch the Witches’ Road
In a recent interview with The Ringer-Verse, Schaeffer revealed that at one time she wanted to have Madisynn, the breakout star of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law join Agatha’s coven at the beginning of the series.
For those who don’t remember, the ditzy Madisynn was introduced in She-Hulk as the victim of magician Donny Blaze.
“[We wanted] to get Madisynn on the Witches’ Road, but it just didn’t work. It was shoehorning,” Schaeffer explained.
Why the Change?
As Schaeffer explained, it would not make narrative sense for Madisynn to be in Westview, not to mention somehow join the adventure on the Witches’ Road.
In the end, Schaeffer and the Agatha team decided to use Debra Jo Rupp’s Mrs. Heart to fill Madisynn’s shoes.
While Schaeffer seems to have made the right decision, the idea of Aubrey Plaza’s Rio and Agatha having to deal with Madisynn would have been must-see TV.
