Benedict Cumberbatch Previews ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and Talks Robert Downey Jr.
While Benedict Cumberbatch has made it clear that he wants to tell more Doctor Strange solo stories, the next time we see the former Sorcerer Supreme returns, it will be in Avengers: Doomsday.
With the news that Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. are both returning for the film, Doomsday is turning into a star-studded affair that should rival even Avengers: Endgame.
During a recent appearance at the Toyko Comic Convention, Cumberbatch addressed his future in the MCU. While he did not want to give up too much information, he did preview one aspect of Avengers: Doomsday that he was looking forward to.

“I’m really excited not only to work with the Russo brothers again, but also to have Robert Downey Jr. returning as Doctor Doom,” Cumberbatch told TV Groove. “I think there’s going to be some really cool developments ahead, and I’m excited to see what happens next.”
Who Will Appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
While much of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday is being kept under wraps, Kevin Feige did confirm that we will see characters from Thunderbolts*, Captain America: Brave New World, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

As for Cumberbatch, the actor has long admitted that he will be returning for the next Avengers adventure.
“It’s been a very lovely relationship with that company,” Cumberbatch told Netflix last year. “I’m very much looking forward to Avengers [5] next year.”
With Strange set to lead the new-look adventures into their multiversal battle, it looks like we could see the sorcerer and Victor Von Doom go toe to toe. That would be a sight to behold.
