Longtime Marvel Studios Executive Nate Moore Is Leaving Early Next Year
According to a report from Deadline, long-time executive Nate Moore is leaving Marvel Studios early next year to transition to producing.
Moore originally joined Marvel in 2010 as an executive in development and production. Throughout his storied career, the Marvel exec helped bring Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War to the big screen while also having a hand in developing the script for Guardians of the Galaxy through the Marvel Writer’s Program.
However, the crowning achievement of Moore’s Marvel career was his development and production work on 2018’s Black Panther, which would go on to win three Academy Awards and gross over $1.3 billion at the box office.
High Praise From Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito
His recent work includes serving as a producer on Eternals and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and executive producer on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
“Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague as well as a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios,” Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito said in a statement.
“He has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we’ll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie.”
Moore’s Marvel Work Is Not Finished yet
As noted in Feige and D’Esposito’s statement, Moore is not entirely leaving the MCU behind. In addition to staying on through mid-March for the release of Captain America: Brave New World, he will also continue to produce Black Panther 3 for Marvel.
“Nearly everything I know about producing I’ve learned from my time at Marvel Studios,” Moore said.
“I feel lucky to have worked with a group of people who love filmmaking and storytelling as much as my Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of our films. But I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for film towards theatrical movies in all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3.”
