‘Agatha All Along’ Season 2 May Not Be Dead After All
Agatha All Along fans received devastating news last month when series star Patti LuPone revealed that the show would not be returning for a second season.
Before LuPone’s bombshell, the prevailing notion was that Agatha’s story would surely continue. After all, the series was a creative triumph for Marvel, with fans and critics lauding the show’s story, acting, and satisfying finale.

Additionally, Agatha All Along had the lowest budget of any Marvel television series to date. So, not only had the studio struck narrative gold, but it also finally delivered a cost-efficient streaming hit.

However, during an appearance on Andy Cohen Live, LuPone revealed that series creator Jac Schaeffer had no interest in doing another season of Agatha.

“There won’t be one. Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I went, ‘But I wanted a second season,’” LuPone explained.
“[Schaffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons,’” LuPone added. “She said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of ‘WandaVision’ and I didn’t.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs and I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again because she’s magic.”

While LuPone’s explanation seemed definitive and also aligned with Schaefer’s previous thoughts on WandaVision Season 2, it looks like Agatha might return after all.
Marvel Would “Surely Like to Do” Another Season of ‘Agatha’
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s head of streaming, television, and animation, revealed that Agatha Season 2 could come to fruition after all.

“I think it’s ‘linear series potential,'” he said when asked about a second season of the show. “A show like Agatha, to me, is concept based. Yes, a second season for sure is something that we would want to do, but let’s not rush it. Let’s get the right idea and then make it.”
Based on Winderbaum’s comments, it sounds like Agatha Season 2 is at least being explored. However, for the series to move forward, Marvel will likely need to convince Schaeffer that another season is worth doing.

For now, fans can take solace in the fact that reports of Agatha’s demise were overstated.
