Jenna Ortega Reveals That She Appeared in ‘Iron Man 3’: “They Took All My Lines Out”

Over the last 17 years, some of Hollywood’s biggest names have joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In fact, entering the MCU has become something of a rite of passage for Tinseltown stars. From stalwarts like Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Pratt to later additions like Christian Bale, Angelina Jolie, and Harrison Ford, the Marvel universe has continued to expand.

However, one name that you probably don’t associate with the MCU is Jenna Ortega.

Ortega Appeared in ‘Iron Man 3’

Before rising to fame with her roles in Stuck in the Middle, Wednesday, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Ortega had a small role in Iron Man 3. If you blinked, however, you would have missed it.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ortega was asked about possibly joining the Marvel Universe. To everyone’s surprise, the actress revealed that she had already done so.

“I did it once,” Ortega replied. “It was one of the first jobs I ever did. They took all my lines out. I’m in ‘Iron Man 3’ for a quick second. I take up the frame, I have one leg and I’m the vice president’s daughter.”

While Ortega’s minor role in Iron Man 3 was likely not part of Marvel’s grand plans, MCU veteran Paul Rudd, who was interviewed alongside the actress, remained hopeful that she would return.

“Marvel is very good at like, kind of laying those bread crumbs,” Rudd, an MCU veteran, said. “And so it might very well be that you come back. That they are going to create something for you, cause they should be so lucky to have Jenna Ortega in their franchise.”

Orega Is Not Holding Her Breath

For her part, Ortega was not as optimistic.

“They even took my name away. I count that, then I move on.”

While Marvel may not have known what they had in Ortega during Iron Man 3, they would undoubtedly welcome the opportunity to bring the actress back into the fold.

Hopefully, Ortega gets another chance with a significant role.
