Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
While Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has never officially been a member of the Avengers, he did team up with Thor and Hulk to defend Asgard. From his throne at the Center of Time, the newly empowered Loki will play a key role in the events of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Endgame.

New Avengers
Joining Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be a new crop of heroes.
The Fantastic Four: Pedro Pascal (Mr. Incredible), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Girl), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), Ebron Moss-Bachran (The Thing)

Here Come the X-Men
The most surprising part of today’s announcement was that many of the stars from the Fox X-Men films will be returning for Avengers: Doomsday. With the Marvel multiverse set to come together, many heroes we haven’t seen for decades will soon be called upon again.
Kelsey Grammer (Beast)
Kelsey Grammer will be reprising his X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past role as Beast. So far, Grammer’s only MCU appearance has been a brief cameo in The Marvels.

Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier)
Joining Grammer in Avengers: Doomsday will be Patrick Stewart, who will reprise his iconic role as Professor Charles Xavier for the first time since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

For many fans, Stewart has given life to the definitive version of Professor Charles Xavier. The legendary actor first played the iconic Marvel character in 2000’s X-Men, before eventually reprising his role in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine, X-Men Days of Future Past, and Logan.
Ian McKellen (Magneto)
Ian McKellen will also suit up again. The actor, of course, portrayed Magneto in the Fox X-Men films, giving fans what many consider to be the definitive adaptation of the iconic Marvel villain.

Unlike Stewart, McKellen has not reprised his role as Erik Lehnsherr since Days of Future Past. Doomsday, then, will mark his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut.
Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler)
Alan Cumming, yet another Fox X-Men star, will return for Doomsday as Nightcrawler.

Photo: Fox
Cumming only has one Marvel appearance to his name, debuting as the blue-skinned mutant in X2: X-Men United.
Rebecca Romijn (Mystique)
Another returning name from the original X-Men trilogy is Rebecca Romijn. The actress first appeared as Mystique in 2000’s X-Men before reprising her role as the shapeshifting mutant in X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: First Class.

Doomsday will mark Romijn’s first Marvel appearance in 15 years.
James Marsden (Scott Summers/Cyclops)
James Marsden, who portrayed Scott Summers/Cyclops in X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand, will also make his MCU debut in Avengers: Doomsday.

Channing Tatum (Gambit)
While never officially appearing in an X-Men film, Channing Tatum will reprise his Deadpool & Wolverine role as Gambit in the next Avengers film.

More Characters Will Surely Return
While today’s announcement gave fans plenty to look forward too, other Marvel stars will surely turn up in Avengers: Doomsday, or at least Avengers: Secret Wars.

The most obvious names to return would include Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Samuel L. Jackson (Nicky Fury), Paul Bettany (Vision), Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye). Newer heroes, including Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), and maybe even The Eternals, could also be included.

There is also the opportunity for Marvel to include other multiversal heroes such as Tobey Macguire and Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parkers, Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool, Wesley Snipe’s Blade, Daphne Keene’s X-23, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
For now, however, fans will have to wait for more information.
