Anthony Mackie Says ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Will Recapture “That Old Marvel Feeling”
While Captain America: Brave New World failed to take flight at the box office, Anthony Mackie is already looking forward to his next Marvel adventure.
Although the future of the Captain America franchise remains cloudy at this moment, we know that Mackie’s Sam Wilson will suit up again to lead Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Doomsday.

As a Marvel veteran, Mackie knows that the stakes of the next Avengers adventure are high. By the sound of things, however, the actor isn’t worried.

“We’re supposed to go out this week and we’ll be out there doing it. Everybody’s excited. I feel with the script and having the Russo brothers back, it’s going to be great.” he continued “I’m really excited for what this project is going to be. It’s going to give the audience that old Marvel feeling that they always had.”
The Stakes Are High
While Marvel’s Phase Five had its share of hits in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3., Deadpool & Wolverine, and Season 2 of Loki, the uneven results of the studios recent output have made the success of Doomsday paramount.

Leading up to the film’s release, there has been considerable discussion about a “reset” or Marvel returning to its roots.
The proof will be in the pudding when Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on May 25, 2026.
