John Boyega Reveals Which Character He Wants to Play in the MCU

While John Boyega is known throughout the galaxy far, far away for his performance as Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, the actor may be getting ready to trade in his lightsaber for superpowers.

During a recent appearance at C2E2 2025, Boyega was asked if he would be appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. While the question may have seemed odd, considering the actor has yet to join the MCU, it did lead to a fascinating answer.

Boyega began his response by expressing his admiration for the MCU but noting that the Avengers: Doomsday cast was full.

“I think they’re very busy. There ain’t no room for me. I can’t wait to watch it. I think with Marvel and everything, after Endgame I was like, wow, how are they going to expand the universe after saving the universe,” he said.

The Actor Has Previously Talked to Kevin Feige

While Boyega’s thoughts on the MCU were interesting in their own right, he then revealed that he had discussed possibly joining Marvel with Kevin Feige.

“I have sat down with Kevin Feige, I’ve been over to those guys, but I’m just going to enjoy it for now because there’s a lot going on. I’m looking forwarding to watching it.”

According to Boyega, when Feige asked him which Marvel character he would like to play, he had no answer.

What About Bishop?

Now, however, Boyega has a specific character in mind. When an audience member shouted that Boyega should play Bishop, the actor readily agreed.

“Oh I’d play Bishop,” he said.

With Marvel set to properly introduce the X-Men into the MCU, we may see Bishop make his debut. Perhaps, then, Boyega (and fans) will get their wish.
