At this time, the negotiations are still in their early stages, and nothing has been finalized. Still, with the positive reception to Schreier’s ensemble film, it looks like Marvel has found its man.
How Will Marvel Introduce the X-Men?
While we know that Marvel will soon properly introduce the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), how exactly they will pull off that feat remains to be seen.

So far, the MCU has relied on the previously established mutants such as Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool.
The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday will see even more of the former Fox X-Men return.

Eventually, however, the MCU will have to introduce its own versions of the iconic characters. The prevailing notion has been that this will happen in the standalone X-Men film.
What We Do Know
While Marvel’s narrative plans remain unclear, we do know that screenwriter Michael Lesslie has penned the film’s screenplay, and Kevin Feige will produce. Now, it looks like we will soon be able to add Schreier to the creative team.
