‘Black Widow’ Screenwriter Weighs in on a Possible Natasha Romanoff Return
With the Marvel multiverse set to come together for the events of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, there have been persistent rumors that some of the deceased original Avengers may somehow return.
While we know that Robert Downey Jr. will be busy portraying Victor Von Doom in the next Avengers adventure, conflicting reports have stated that Chris Evans could come back as Steve Rogers.

Finally, there is Scarlett Johansson. While the actress’s time in the MCU seemingly concluded with Natasha Romanoff’s death in Avengers: Endgame and the subsequent Black Widow solo film, fans have continued to hold out hope that Natasha could also somehow return.
Johansson Has Been Adamant That She Is Done
The last time we checked in, Johansson was firmly telling InStyle that Balck Widow’s story had ended.

“Natasha is dead. She is dead. She’s dead. Okay?” she said, openly pleading with Marvel fans. “They just don’t want to believe it. They’re like, ‘But she could come back!’ Look, I think the balance of the entire universe is held in her hand. We’re going to have to let it go. She saved the world. Let her have her hero moment.”

Now, another Marvel creative has weighed in.
‘Black Widow’ Screenwriter Eric Pearson Weighs In
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Black Widow scribe Eric Pearson has shared his thoughts on Natasha’s future.

When asked if the Avenger could appear in Doomsday, Pearson had this to say:
“I will preface by saying that I have no idea, but I don’t think so. I feel like her end in ‘Endgame’ and then her epilogue with our Black Widow prequel were so lovely. So I would be surprised, but I know nothing about that. I have very little knowledge of what’s going on with ‘Doomsday’ right now.”
Pearson’s comments echo everything that we have heard leading up to the release of Doomsday– Natasha Romanoff is not coming back.
Nevertheless, until Marvel fans see the film, they will continue to hold out hope. After all, in the Marvel multiverse, death isn’t always final.
