Will We See Spider-Man and Daredevil Team Up to Save New York?
When Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters this summer, it will be the third Marvel Cinematic Universe film in a row to be set primarily in New York City.
While the Big Apple has always been the center of the MCU, Marvel’s focus on the city has intensified of late, especially since Daredevil: Born Again brought the action back down to the street level.
Leading up to the releases of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and Spider-Man 4, there has been widespread hope among fans that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker could finally team up.

This speculation has only intensified since it was revealed that Punisher will appear in Brand New Day.
Sana Amanat and Dario Scardapane Weigh In
Ahead of the release of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, executive producer Sana Amanat and showrunner Dario Scardapane sat down with ComicBook to discuss the series.

When asked if the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Daredevil: Born Again would have any effect on each other, both men played coy.
“What’s Brand New day? Oh, that’s gotta be a high school kid. Our guys don’t hang out with high school kids,” Scardapane quipped.

“I don’t know how to answer that. I don’t think so. And I don’t think it should. I think we’re continuing to tell our story the way that we need to tell it. I think season two is a very big season for us, for a lot of ways, and you’ll know exactly where it’s going. So it technically should be its own thing, but I don’t know. I haven’t seen the latest cut. So, you know, your guess is as good as mine.”
Marvel Television Will Remain Self-Contained
Since Marvel decided it was going to overhaul how it made television, the studio has made a concerted effort to tell insular stories on streaming.

While the latest MCU series are still set in the broader MCU, they are designed to be accessible to fans who may not be caught up on the latest happenings in the franchise.
Perhaps then, it makes sense that Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man: Brand New Day will tell parallel stories.

It is strange, however, to think that when New York City is in danger, Spidey and Daredevil will not team up.
