Ethan Hawke to Play Disney+ Moon Knight Villain
The actor will play opposite Oscar Issac in the titular title role in Disney+ Moon Knight.
According to an article from Hollywood Reporter, Ethan Hawke will be joining the MCU as the big bad for Moon Knight, an upcoming Disney+ series that will star Oscar Issac as Marc Spector, the eponymous Moon Knight.

What Is Disney+ Moon Knight?
The basic story of Disney+ Moon Knight follows Spector, a mercenary, who becomes the conduit for the power of the ancient Egyptian deity Khonshu. The Marvel comics that follow Spector have frequently explored the character’s multiple personality disorder.

The Moon Knight series will begin filming in March 2021 in Budapest. (Hopefully, the experience will be memorable for reasons other than those that make the location unforgettable to Natasha Romanov, A.K.A. Black Widow and Clint Barton, A.K.A. Hawkeye, in 2012’s The Avengers.)
With rumors suggesting that we might get to see the events that took place in Budapest firsthand when the big-screen Black Widow movie is finally released, the news that Moon Knight is filming in Budapest is more exciting than ever!
Who Is in Disney+ Moon Knight? Beside Hawke
However, Hawke is only the latest casting announcement for the latest Marvel Studios project. The latests casting annoucements also include May Calamawy (Ramy), although what role she may be playing remains to be seen.

Like Calamawy, Marvel has not revealed Hawke’s role to fans. However, his status as the show’s primary villain is leading some fans to speculate that he might be playing Bushman. The villian is a fellow mercenary who turns on Spector when he thinks it might earn him more money.
Excitingly, the series is being directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead.

While Hawke hasn’t appeared in any superhero movies or television shows yet, he played an important role in the movies that launched the very successful The Purge and Sinister franchises, respectively, no doubt earning him the attention of the MCU’s casting department.
