Sam Jackson Gets COVID-19 Vaccine in Avengers Mask
Samuel L. Jackson (age 72) posted a photo of himself wearing an Avengers-themed face mask while waiting in line to get the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The BAFTA-winning actor has portrayed S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2008’s Iron Man. And to date, he has appeared in 11 MCU films! Additionally, in September 2020, Marvel Studios announced that Jackson will be returning to his role in the upcoming Disney+ series, Nick Fury.
On January 22nd, the MCU actor, Jackson, posted two photos of himself on Instagram, along with the caption, “At The Forum getting that first jab!!” The first photo pictured Jackson leaning out of his car window and taking a photo of the line he was waiting in outside of The Forum in Los Angeles. The second photo was a selfie of Jackson in an Avengers-themed mask, featuring Thor, Nick Fury, Captain America, Hulk, and Iron Man.
California’s Mass Vaccination Sites
The Forum is one of several mass vaccination sites in Los Angeles County that opened on January 19th, 2021. In addition to The Forum, the vaccination sites are at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Cal State Northridge, The Fairplex, and the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s Downey Education Center.
According to the Los Angeles Times, in L.A. County, the five large-scale coronavirus vaccination sites plan to inoculate 20,000 people daily.
Other mass vaccination sites in Southern California include Dodger Stadium and Disneyland. Already, all sites have started distributing the vaccine to eligible recipients over the age of 65.
Where to Get COVID-19 Vaccine?
L.A. County and Los Angeles are currently offering the vaccine to anyone who is 65 and older. To sign up, you can access the the L.A. County vaccination registration page to set up an appointment at the county public health department website, or you can set up an appointment through the city on a different online portal.
