Ant-Man 3: Quantumania Begins Filming in Turkey
The third movie in the Ant-Man series, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, has begun filming in the underground city of Cappadocia, Turkey. For fans who don’t speak the language, the exciting news about the Ant-Man movie was announced on Habertürk TV by Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, a couple of days ago. And the honeycombed filming location is gorgeous.
Who’s Returning for Ant-Man 3?
Peyton Reed, who also directed the first two movies in the series, will direct Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. As we know, the director is a Disney and Marvel veteran. Reed also directed two episodes of the second season of The Mandalorian on Disney+ – including “Chapter 10: The Passenger,” an episode with, uh, giant, uh, creepy-crawlies.
The tenth chapter of The Mandalorian featured – get this – a whole swarm of giant insect-like space creatures. It’s obvious the man knows his big bugs, okay?
It isn’t clear whether or not any of the actors appearing in Quantumania are currently filming in Turkey, or if the unit on location is filming footage with which the cast are uninvolved.
We know, however, that the third movie in the Ant-Man trilogy will see the return of Scott Lang (A.K.A. Ant-Man), played by Paul Rudd, and Hope Van Dyne (A.K.A. the Wasp), as portrayed by Evangeline Lily. Also returning for Quantumania are Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, and his wife, Dr. Janet Van Dyne, who will be portrayed by the great Michelle Pfeiffer.
And there will be several new additions to the cast for the third movie, including Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror and Kathryn Newton as Scott’s daughter, Cassie Lang.
Quantumania Begins Filming Turkey
Quantumania is one of many MCU Phase Four movies currently in production across the world. Currently, the upcoming movies Thor: Love and Thunder, Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and the as-of-yet untitled third movie in the MCU Spider-Man trilogy are all being produced by Marvel Studios.
And that’s saying nothing about the multiple Disney+ shows like Ms. Marvel. And maybe with the Blade movie finding it’s writer earlier this week that means we are actually getting the Tomb of Dracula series on Hulu?
While the next movie in the Ant-Man trilogy won’t be released in theaters until 2022, you can keep yourself occupied in the meantime with the first two movies in the series. Currently, both films are available for streaming on Disney+. What will you be watching?
