LOKI Merch Reveals Tantalizing Hints for What’s in Store
If the recently posted merchandise on the Loki online Zazzle store is any indication, the Asgardian god of mischief is in for some very strange adventures when his self-titled Disney+ series begins streaming on June 11th, 2021!
The newly revealed Marvel Studios merch includes some tantalizing suggestions as to where Thor’s mischievous younger brother might be heading when the anticipated show arrives this summer.
Where’s Loki?
First, a quick primer: the Loki Disney+ show, starring Tom Hiddleston in the eponymous role, begins when some of the events we witnessed in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame caused the creation of a splinter timeline.
When the Avengers traveled back to different points in history to retrieve the Infinity Stones, one of the places (uh, and times) they visited was Avengers Tower during the events of 2012’s Avengers. In the aftermath of Loki’s attack on New York City, the god of mischief was able to steal the Tesseract and escape from the Avengers… hmm…
However, from the latest Loki previews, it seems that in the process, he created a splinter timeline.
New Merch, New Hints
It seems like breaking out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s main timeline may come with some immediate consequences for Loki, in the form of a TVA – Time Variance Authority – tribunal. The new merch released on the Loki Zazzle site shows us how some of those consequences may look – and they look like indentured servitude to the TVA.
First and foremost, the store has plenty of merch with the official crest for the TVA (motto: “For All Time. Always.”), including mugs, postcards, and tote bags.
And then, there’s designs featuring the characters of the series, including the god of mischief himself – but in full TVA regalia.
We’ve previously been introduced to the character played by Owen Wilson in the Loki trailer, one Mobius M. Mobius (now there’s a name you can trust backwards and forwards), but this merch comes with the implication that the TVA will be conscripting Loki in its service, with Mobius and Loki becoming partners for the time-travel policing agency.
In addition to new imagery of Mobius and Loki in the series, we also get an intriguing look at a shirt that states “The Timeline Wants to Break Free,” as well as Miss Minutes, a clock who seems to be a logo for the TVA.
What’s Happening with Loki?
Just what’s going on with the god of mischief? We can’t wait until we get to find out when Loki arrives on Disney+ on June 11th, 2021. Let Marvel Blog know what time period you hope Loki visits in the comments!
