Remaining Avengers Assemble! Falcon & Winter Soldier Posters
Marvel Studios and stans everywhere are gearing up for the forthcoming six-episode series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, coming to Disney+ on March 19th, 2021.
Since the WandaVision series finale, the advertising campaign for the Marvel Studios’ series about Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson (A.K.A. Falcon) and Sebastian Stan‘s Bucky Barnes (A.K.A. Winter Solider) journey from bromance to crime fighting partners has really kicked it up a notch. Only recently, Marvel Studios and Disney+ released the Marvel Studios: Legends episodes about Falcon and Winter Soldier earlier than planned. Then, yesterday, the company unveiled four new character posters for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on the show’s official Twitter account.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Posters
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is picking up after the events of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, in which fans saw Chris Evan‘s Captain America pass the torch. In one scene, fans saw Old Man Steve Rogers hand over the iconic red-white-and-blue shield.
Marvel Studios Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige has promised that the show will be a “much deeper dive on both of [characters] pasts and both of their presents, post-Endgame, in a way that is cool.”
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier poster featuring Bucky Barnes showcases the character with a spiffed up version of the black-and-gold vibranium arm that he got from the Wakandans at the end of 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War.
According to FandomWire, it was revealed in Captain America Vol. 5 that Bucky’s arm can even function when it’s detached from his body by remote control!
We don’t know about you, but at Marvel Blog, we certainly hope to see some bionic arm action in the upcoming series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, or at least we’re hoping to see the return of the robotic Redwing.
The Agent 13 and Zemo Posters
Emily VanCamp‘s Sharon Carter (A.K.A. Agent 13) is back, and her poster shows that she’s ready to help her ex’s besties take down Zemo, who is out of prison and back on his crusade to make sure that superheroes ceases to exist. While we still don’t know where Sharon Carter was during the snap, we do know that she’s been on the run.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, VanCamp promised that answers are coming, saying: “We’re obviously going to find out where Sharon’s been all this time because she’s been on the run.”
Daniel Brühl‘s (Baron) Helmut Zemo also makes an appearance on the posters, wearing his Marvel Comics accurate purple mask after skipping the look in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War – excitingly, fans are wondering if the mask’s a sign of things to come in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Like Wanda Maximoff (A.K.A. Scarlet Witch), Brühl’s Zemo is Sokovian and has experienced trauma thanks to the fallout from the events of 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Could Bucky’s disembodied arm (think Addams Family) be the next cute fad to come out of the MCU? First, The Mandalorian had Baby Yoda (A.K.A. Grogu). Then, WandaVision had Baby Vision. Now, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has Bucky’s Bionic Arm…
The new posters give fans an opportunity to take a closer look at their favorite characters before they take off on their first post-Endgame adventure in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 19th, 2021.
