The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Poster Series
Poster releases for feature films have a long backstory (including a storied history with Marvel Comics and Star Wars in the 1970s), but with movie theaters closed thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic entertainment companies have gotten more creative: releasing posters for streaming TV series premieres, as well.
With WandaVision, Marvel Studios and Disney+ joined the fun, releasing a whole series of amazing posters for the show each week that were tweeted out from the official account.
And for someone who remembers flipping through the wall of vintage movie posters at comic conventions, the nostalgia factor is 3000 with these poster releases.
Who’s Poster Posse and A. Szarka?
For Marvel fans, who want to decorate their walls with something much bigger than a comic book, check out the amazing original artwork from Poster Posse‘s group of over 40 creatives, illustrators, and designers worldwide.
One of the artists that Poster Posse regularly works with is Szarka, whose work can by found under the moniker SzarkaArt, designed The Falcon and the Winter Soldier poster.
Szarka earned a degree in Visual Graphics Art and Drawing from the College of Visual Graphics and Fine Arts in Hungary. According to his biography:
He attempts to combine traditional art techniques with the diversity of digital workflows. For him, a movie poster is the pictorial projection of the film, an eye-catching and mood-inspiring design. In his work it is important that he try to capture the essence of the film and deliver it to the audience in the form of a compressed image, while remaining humble and respectful toward the movie.
The first poster in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, which uses the Rule of Thirds to highlight the Falcon and his personal struggle, certainly captures the essence of the first episode of the series.
