ROXXCART Website: It’s A-LIVE!
One of the most notable things about the Marvel Studios’ Loki trailer that dropped a couple days ago is the reappearance of the Roxxon Corporation, but this time they’re selling electronic goods rather than oil and secrets. It seems like the Roxxon Corporation marketplace, Roxxcart, will play a pretty predominant role in the forthcoming series, premiering on Disney+ on June 11th, 2021.
And now, a mysterious website for the Roxxcart brand has appeared online. Roxxcart.com is a promotional website for the Roxxcart grocery and general store that was created in December 2020, possibly as a viral marketing campaign for Loki.
What Is Roxxcart?
Is the Roxxcart website the start of a viral campaign to promote Loki? According to Spencer Perry at ComicBook.com, not necessarily:
A closer examination of the website reveals there are no copyright or trademark information for Marvel or Disney seen in the source code or on the page itself, which would likely be present even if this was an attempt at viral marketing.
If the domain was official, it’s likely the domain registration information would be available. However, its absence from the code isn’t dispositive. Remember the WandaVision source code sleuthing?
What Is Roxxon Corporation?
So why is Roxxon back? Well, who knows really. But, if I know a thing or two about the Roxxon Corporation – and I do – it’s that they’re probably back in business to join the NFT game…
Roxxon Corporation is one of the largest conglomerates in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and fans have seen the company’s expansive reach into the lives of private citizens throughout the MCU’s ten year history, especially on the shows produced by the now defunct Marvel TV (which was folded into Marvel Studios in 2019).
Roxxon previously appeared on several Marvel TV shows, including Agent Carter, Cloak & Dagger, Daredevil, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
