The 2021 Hugo Awards will be presented at DisCon III, which will take place from December 15th through 19th in Washington, D.C. The ceremony will be hosted by Sheree Renée Thomas and Malka Older.
Ghost-Spider Vol. 1: Dog Days Are Over
The comic nominated is Ghost-Spider Vol. 1: Dog Days Are Over by Seanan McGuire, Takeshi Miyazawa, Rosi Kӓmpe, Ian Herring, and Clayton Cowles.
We have a hard time believing that Marvel Blog True Believers aren’t already familiar with this incarnation of Gwen Stacey, but just in case: you may recognize her from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018).
G-Wanda is originally a denizen of parallel universe Earth-65, Dog Days Are Over follows the characters’ experiences as she moves from her home universe to the main Marvel Comics dimension, Earth-616.
It isn’t just saving the world that’s brought Gwen to the 616: it’s also school (and her super cool rock band, THE MARY JANES)!
In Ghost-Spider, Gwen’s the newest student at Empire State University, a school that can claim such impressive former students as Peter Parker and Doreen Green (that’s the one and only Unbeatable Squirrel-Girl, Marvel Blog True Believers)!
If you’re interested in reading Dog Days Are Over – or Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider, by the same creative team – both stories are available on the Marvel Unlimited app in their entirety!
